In conjunction with our Cardiologists, the Radiology Associates of Ithaca offer Rest and Stress Gated Spect Myocardial Perfusion studies to asses for risk of Heart Attack. 

This is a nuclear Medicine scan performed over two days, 1.5 hour on the rest day and 2-3 hours on the stress day.

We can detect the locations of prior myocardial infarctions which may be months to years old and differentiate those from new areas in the heart that are at risk of developing a new myocardial infarction.

We also measure how much blood is being pumped with each stroke, and can therefore tell if the heart's pumping efficiency is within normal limits.
