Getting Your Images to Your Doctor Rapidly! |
Since 2002, the Cayuga Medical Center has invested
heavily in the future with the installation of the Picture Archiving and
Communications System (PACS). This allows imaging with out film: All
imaging is available to the Radiologists and all doctors in the
community on computer screens. Availability of current and old studies
dating back to 2002, is measured in seconds. Our specialist Radiologists
are always available on-line from whatever site they happen to be
working, to bring to bear special expertise
needed to ensure the most accurate diagnoses for the most challenging
cases.Teleradiology has made 24/7 coverage by
the Radiologists routine, and rapid availability of your images to your
Doctor's office to expedite your clinical evaluation.
The diagrams below shows how the imaging services of the Cayuga Medical
Center are integrated at all three sites in Ithaca, Lansing, and
Cortland, and how all daily and archived images are available to our
radiologists and the physicians who refer to our facilities.
Your images are available only to YOUR DOCTORS. The privacy of your
imaging studies is assured through secure sign-in procedures fully
compliant with the U.S. federal regulations.
